NORTHERN CALIFORNIA GROUP

Anyone living in northern California is welcome to join our group. We routinely discuss regional tournaments and other chess events. Many members are active local tournament players and organizers. Of course, we often just casually socialize, since we know each other in person. The group channel is channel 312 on the ICC main server.

To apply to join this group, type on ICC: g-join NorthCA. The group operator (fpawn) will need to approve your request. If fpawn doesn't already know who you are, then it is beneficial for you to identify yourself and where you live.

The first NorthCA prize tournament was held on February 10. Eight players participated, and rising junior "g6" won with a 3.5-0.5 score. CherrylandCafe was 2nd overall, speedster won the u2000 USCF prize and Pepsigirl won the u1600 USCF prize. Congratulations to all of them!
