GM Kevlar defeats GM Sagalchik in Knockouts Match #2

Match #2 of the Internet Chess Club Grandmaster Knockouts took
place on Sunday, October 6.  Grandmaster Einar Gausel of Norway
defeated Grandmaster Gennady Sagalchik to advance to the Semifinal
match against GM Dmitry Gurevich on October 12.

GM Sagalchik struck first, winning the first game of the 2-game
match playing White against Gausel's Nimzo-Indian Defense.
"Kevlar" then forced a blitz playoff by winning the second game.
The 2 regulation games were played with a time control of 25
minutes plus a 10-second increment.

In the first blitz game, Sagalchik forfeited on time when he
didn't receive one of Gausel's moves.  In a display of sportsmanship,
GM Gausel agreed to resume the game at that point, putting time
back on Sagalchik's clock.  Gausel went on to win the game anyway.
In the second blitz game, GM Gausel held a draw to win the match and
advance to the Semifinals.
