ICC Help: Marathon

On May 10th noon - May 11th 2014 noon, the Tomato family of automated
TDs will run another 24-hour marathon of tournaments.
Marathons are held the second weekend of January, May and September.

For 2014 schedule, go to:
http://www.littleper.com/public/marathon/marathon_dates.htm

CHANGES in 2014:
There are now 3 marathons each year (was 6).
The most prizes have doubled.
There are now also random draw prizes.
Olive under 1700 section has stopped. Flash is now all rating.

There are 2 sections for blitz players (U1600 and 1600+)
in Tomato and Cooly, an Open 1-0 in Flash and an Open 15-0 in Slomato.
Players rated 100 points below or 50 points above the section limit can
play in either section, but to be eligible for a prize in the U1600 Blitz
section, a player must be below the respective limit before
he enters the marathon and after it ends. This guarantees staying in
the same section throughout the entire marathon. Players who are close
to the limit are well advised to play in the high section from the start.

The first tournaments will start at exactly 12:00pm (noon) server time
on January 11th and the marathon will conclude at the end of any
tournaments ongoing at 11:59am server time January 12th.

All tournaments are continuous, and always 4 rounds long, except for
the bullet tournaments, which are 5 rounds long.
Types of Tourneys:
  Tomato: U1600 5-0 section
  Cooly: 1600+ 5-0 section
  Flash: 1-0 (all ratings)
  Slomato: 15-0 (all ratings)

Only the below scheduled events are run during the Marathon:
Slomato Noon Monthly Standard will be added manually to Slomato serie
after the marathon.
Nightly U1500: added to the U1600 section.
Nightly 1400+: added to both U1600 and 1600+ sections.
Sleepless will be run in two sections in the marathon night,
with the results added to the respective marathon sections.
EarlyMorning will be run in two sections in the marathon night,
with the results added to the respective marathon sections.

NEW ! Random Draw prize system:
Tournaments played during the marathon are added to a series.
Example: In january the tournaments in slomato marathon are put in jan-slomato.
From all the grids in this series there are randomly 4 tournaments choosen.
From each tournament grid a player is choosen. If a player already won a best
or a most prize or if he is a freetrial then he is not eligible for a random
draw prize. Another player is then choosen.
This means that, like with lottery tickets, the more tournaments you are in,
the more chance you have on getting picked for a random draw prize.

Commands for the current standings (ongoing tourn results are not
yet added):
tell slomato series best may-slomato
tell tomato series best may-tomato
tell cooly series best may-cooly
tell flash series best may-flash

For your own place in the list type for example:
tell tomato series best jan-tomato Lisebeth

Replace 'best' with 'most' for the prizes for most games.
Example: tell tomato series most may-tomato

Free trials are not eligible for prizes. For the U1600 blitz prizewinners
of the respective classes in the previous marathon are not eligible to win
again. Not more than one prize per participant.

To see prize winners of the last marathon, check
finger Marathonwinners.

Special Rating Rules Restrictions:
Class prize eligibility is based on rating being below limit
BOTH at the start of the Marathon, AND upon it's
conclusion. In addition, the "best" rating must not be
higher than 200 points above the rating class limit.
Furthermore, management reserves the right to deny a prize to
anyone for any reason, who does not belong in a rating class
  section.

Miscellaneous:
All the usual ICC guideline rules apply: NO computer assistance.
NO Human assistance. NO one may play on your account.
And intentional rating abuse (lowering rating to enter lower class),
are all STRICTLY forbidden, and may lead to disqualification
from this Marathon, all future Marathons, as well as further
sanctions as laid out by ICC's Agreement, and Policy rules.

Note that there will be NO half-point bye points for latejoining
in the marathon anymore, except for the scheduled tourneys.
