ICC Help: Simulbot

SimulBot is a robot designed to run simuls on ICC.

Command:

tell SimulBot join

You'll automatically be placed in the simul channel. Monitor the channel activity for updates on who has joined. Be ready - when the simul is full, your game could start at any time!

To see the complete list of players in the simul, type:

Command:

tell SimulBot players

Some SimulBot simuls are run using a lottery system. This system allows an unlimited number of players to sign up, but chooses a set amount (usually around 30) to actually play a game. The factors that influence a players probability of being chosen include how many simuls a player has played and whether the player won, lost, or did not enter the last lottery simul.

When a lottery simul is being run, you can see the number of chances each player has for being chosen for the simul by typing:

If the simul has started but there are still some spots left, you can attempt to latejoin the simul by typing:

tell SimulBot latejoin

After the simul has started, you can see a list of the simul games by typing:

tell SimulBot games

You can see more detailed information on the simul games by typing:

tell SimulBot games2

SimulBot allows players to follow a simul, too. When following a SimulBot follower, SimulBot automatically cycles you through all the active simul games, issuing all the commands automatically.

To follow a SimulBot simul, type:

tell SimulBot follow

To stop following a SimulBot simul, type:

Command:	tell SimulBot unfollow
	To see the games of a simul at any point, type:

tell SimulBot results

SimulBot runs most of the scheduled simuls. Scheduled simuls are usually those given by titled players - do help event2 to see the complete listing of dates and times for the scheduled simuls.

SimulBot2, an exact replica of SimulBot, is now setup to run simuls for the general ICC community. Simply ask in channel 4 for a SimulBot manager to run YOUR simul! To see a list of SimulBot managers, type:

SimulBot can be set to automatically notify you when a simul is opened. To activate this feature, simply type:

tell SimulBot alarm

SimulBot also offers a variety of options for simuls. It allows you to run wild simuls, simuls with computers, simuls with a maximum rating for entrants, simuls with black, and simuls where the simul giver has a random color in each game! Ask the SimulBot manager if you would like to try any of these features.
