Tournament Times Crouching Carlsen, Returning Seirawan!

Magnus Carlsen looks set to make up for some of the lost ground in his recent ratings hiccup, as the Norwegian teenager takes a one point lead over the field going into the penultimate round of the Pearl Spring Masters in Nanjing, China.

He now looks a safe bet to defend the title he so sensationally won with a winning streak last year that made him the world #1. His closest rivals are World Champion Vishy Anand and tournament outsider Etienne Bacrot - and if they have any chance at all of making a move on Carlsen, they will need to do so in round 9.

That means it could be an explosive round in Nanjing - And ICC will have the formidable commentary team of GMs Yasser Seirawan and Larry Christiansen here to cover all the action for you only on Chess.FM!

Recently Chess.FM was delighted to have GM Yasser Seirawan join our live coverage broadcast team, as he and GM Joel Benjamin expertly broke down the action for us in round 4. Many ICC members asked if they could somehow listen to the show, as they missed it due to it being broadcast during the wee small hours here on ICC. So, for ICC members only, you can listen to all 5 hours of that particular show by clicking here!

Join ICC now to listen to a full rebroadcast of Seirawan-Benjamin from round 4 and live coverage of round 9 with Seirawan-Christiansen - and catch the final round of live action on Chess.FM with GMs Ronenn Har-Zvi and Alex Yermolinskyall from Nanjing (plus upcoming Tal Memorial and London Chess Classic) by clicking here!

Rounds 9 start at 2:30 PM local time (2:30 AM ICC / 11:30 PM Pacific daylight / 8:30 AM CET), and round 10 at 10 AM local time (10 PM ICC / 7 PM Pacific daylight / 4 AM CET). Official site: http://www.chess-pearlspring.com/www/chess_pk/2009/en/
