Tournament Times London Calling

London calling to the faraway towns/Now that war is declared-and battle come down, so goes the iconic anthem of The Clash - and we're set for a momentous battle with the year-ending, not-to-be missed London Chess Classic at Olympia, running 8th-15th December.

Remarkably, the field is even stronger than last year with reigning world champion and official world No 1, Vishy Anand heading the line up that also includes unofficial world No1 Magnus Carlsen and former champion Vladimir Kramnik. They will be the principal players in a field that also has the US No 1, Hikaru Nakamura, and England's top four Michael Adams, Nigel Short, Luke McShane and David Howell.

The opening ceremony has now taken place, battle-lines have been drawn, and the pairings for every round now published on the official site at http://www.londonchessclassic.com/classic/standings.htm

Chess.FM will have live commentary throughout of the London Chess Classic, with the first two rounds featuring GM Yasser Seirawan teaming up with GMs Alex Yermolinsky and Jon Ludvig Hammer. Play gets underway on Wednesday, 8th December starting at 9am and on Thursday, 9th December, play gets underway two hours later at 11am ICC; with the rest of the rounds starting at 9am ICC except for a two hour early start for the final round at 7am ICC on Wednesday, 15th December.

Join ICC now to listen to our extensive live coverage of the London Chess Classic - and you can also take part in the NIC Trivia contest at the end of each of our popular Game of the Day videos, where each round an ICC member can win a 1-year subscription to the world's best chess magazine, New In Chess.

Tournament Times Bonus Gems: A Holiday Special

'Tis the season to enjoy your ICC membership - and especially with an exclusive new 4-part video series, entitled "Bonus Gems", that will be released during all four Sundays through December from Chess.FM's Game of the Week host, GM Joel Benjamin!

Bonus Gems provides a smorgasbord of additional material that, due to the constraints of space, didn't make it into Joel's highly entertaining book, American Grandmaster: Four Decades of Chess Adventures. There's more games, more anecdotes, more adventures meaning more MrHat for the Holidays on ICC - and thanks to the generosity of publishers Everyman Chess, we have six personally autographed copies of American Grandmaster to give away in an exclusive ICC member-only email trivia competition!

Six randomly selected winners will receive, not only the book, but also the opportunity to have Joel Benjamin personally dedicate their chosen message inside along with his autograph. The Bonus Gems video series and competition is exclusive only for ICC members - so join ICC now to tune in to Bonus Gems and enter the competition by clicking here.

Tournament Times Featuring Chess.FM

One of the great benefits of ICC (apart from all the top-notch online play and tournaments) in recent years has been the upgrade in our Chess.FM service - many members agree that the live Chess.FM commentary and GOTDs from our elite tournament coverage alone is worthy of their membership fee. As a member you have access all through the year to our regular weekly shows: Ronens Opening Survey (Mondays), Chess Talk (Tuesdays), Attack With LarryC (Wednesdays), Boris Altermans Gambit Guide (Thursdays), Joel Benjamins Game of the Week (Fridays), and Dan Heisman's Improve Your Chess (Saturdays).

And for non-ICC members to tune-in to one of the most popular Chess.FM regular weekly shows, we have made this week's Chess Talk show with IM Malcolm Pein free for you to view to find out exactly what you are missing by not being a member of ICC!
