Let the fun begin!
Here we are, the elite chess season is finally starting! After months of "minor events", Saturday April the 21st Levon Aronian and Vladimir Kramnik start their so-much awaited match. Six games that, given the friendly nature of the match, promise to show fireworks and Bengala lights on the board; in any case, the organizers - and the sponsors - have found a way to guarantee the thrill: if a game ends in a draw before three hours of play, a rapid game (that doesn't count for the overall result of the match) will be played. Play starts at 9AM ICC time - last round on April the 28th at 7AM -and ICC will be ready with his Chess.FM team to comment on the games. The dream team with Yasser Seirawan, Ronen Har-Zvi, Var Akobian, Jon Ludvig Hammer, Joel Benjamin, Larry Christiansen, Ben Finegold and last but not least, Alex Yermolinsky, is ready to follow the games with you, answer your questions and share interesting stories! GM Suat Atalik will provide the daily Game Of the Day video, with the highlights of the game. We will have the traditional TRIVIA contest during the broadcast, where ICC members can win extension of their membership, and the GOTD TRIVIA contest with the main prize: one year subscription to the best chess magazine out there: New in Chess! Don't miss a milestone in chess history: the Zurich Challenge is the first time ever that two players in the super-exclusive club "over 2800" face each other in a match.
The elite season will continue in May and June with the US Championship, the World Championship match between Anand and Gelfand , and the Tal Memorial. ICC will be covering all of these events, with live games and Chess.FM broadcast.

Your feedback is very important to us, as it allows our talent to address topics of general interest in their video-lectures. In a new series of his acclaimed weekly show "Every Russian Schoolboy Knows” GM Alex listened to your feedback and requests and is going back to the basics of the endgame. Yes, the pawn endgames: an important part of chess theory we too often neglect to study, thinking we already "know better”. GM Yermolinsky, in this 5-video series, intends to teach us methods and strategies rather than just calculations; the concepts and ideas that will help us deal correctly with pawn endgames.
